Jack Crack

An aesthetic hand crack system that busts straight up The Beanstalk Wall. G-rated protection and fun moderate climbing. We spent two days cleaning out these deep, formerly-root-filled cracks. The cleaning revealed a line that provides fun, sustained jamming. Named to match the Beanstalk Wall, for my grandfather Jack Casler who was a WWII purple heart vet.Start near a birch tree uphill from The Beanstalk Crack. Step left and reach up to good jugs around the left side of the arete. Make one or two 5.7 moves to reach a stance and an excellent cam placement. Step right onto the face and commit to the hand crack crux. Climb straight up the central crack system above. Continue straight up from the tree stump to find good protection and more jamming. End at a bolted anchor in the alcove.

Single rack to No. 2. It can be nice to have double 0.5 to No. 1 camalots.
