Steal Once, Pay Twice
Description
First established by Jonathan Hogue in 2016, this boulder problem was always on the local boulderers radar, but cleaning and prepping the problem took several days due to heavy liken and moss that impeded the line. After much work hanging in a harness for days on end, Jonathan put up the FA and named it "Steal Once, Pay Twice," a beautiful problem on incut crimps from start to finish!
Sit start with high hands on the obvious jugs. Delicately move up the middle of the boulder on incut crimps and decent feet. It's quite tall and the landing slopes downwards (stepped down), so crash-pads and spotters are recommended.
Here is a short edit featuring this line and more where we've established and repeated some of these stellar lines: youtube.com/watch?v=Z7N7YUA…
Location
From the wooden stairs at the start of the Canada Cliffs Trail-Head, follow the hiking trail all the way back towards the woods, perhaps a half mile from the parking lot. When the trail splits left towards the service road, stay right, and start following the pathway up the hill continuing on the Canada Cliffs Trail. The boulder will be visible in the woods to the right, it's hard to miss because it's HUGE!
Protection
Crash-pads & spotters recommended.
