Description
As the route description in Beckey's brown guide book doesn't match this route, this might be a variation to what is described there. It begins near the center and lowest point (middle) of the South Face at an obvious (crux) layback hand size crack (at least 5.10, although it was wet when we did it). Then climb up the left trending ramp and finish by leaving the ramp on the upper part rightward, to some fun 5.7-8 climbing. Meet the west ridge a short ways from the summit.
Location
Hike the Commonwealth Creek trail (or PCT-to-CCT) until soon after you cross a stream and begin moving up on the flank of Red Mountain. Leave the trail and hike northwest into Commonwealth Basin. Arrive at the base of the south face of Lundin.
Protection
small/med alpine rock rack to 3+ inches, runners
