Moonridge Crack

FA rumors of Boulderites, but otherwise Baker, 1972
CREATED
UPDATED

Description

The 5.10 overhanging crack splitting Moonridge Boulder is conveniently located on the margin of CO Highway 67. There is just enough room for a crash pad to be placed off the pavement. Moonridge Crack is rarely climbed, so slippery pine needles can build up on the upper slab, above the overhanging 5.10  crack, presenting a big fall hazard. By the way, spelling for Moonridge is based on local nomenclature.

It is located about 0.8 miles west of Rampart Range Road on CO Hwy 67. Going to Devil's Head, it is less than a mile out of the way to the Moonridge Crack.

Protection

Tape for the hands, crack shoes, and crash pads. Baker used a broom to clean off the pine needles and gravel on the summit slab.
