Description

The Falcon Guidebook lists this as the Turtle Proj, and says that it was awaiting a short and strong climber to send it. I, of course, found the weak tallboy beta for it and snagged the FA.Start with a perfect left heel-toe cam under the left face of the boulder, hands on two single pad 3 finger crimps that are right next to each other, and a right foot somewhere on the rail at the base of the boulder. Pull off and power up to a bad right hand pinch with a sharp thumb catch, then left hand to a blocky pinch below the lip of the boulder. Throw for an incut crimp on the face, then get to the jugs above and top out. Left face is off other than the starting foot. One of the higher quality moderate boulders you're likely to find on this type of rock.

Location

Walk to the Turtle Back Rock formation from the nearby parking lot, then go down a gulley on the left side. This is on the 2nd overhanging boulder, behind the first one you see down the slope.

Protection

A pad below and maybe one on the rock behind you.
