Ridge with a View

Description

About 15 feet left of the skyline arête that divides Buena Vista Wall's east and northwest faces is an offwidth that ends after 25 or so feet. Climb the offwidth to its end then step right onto the slabby face and climb past a bolt to a ledge. Clip another bolt near the left side of the steeper face above and continue to the top of the buttress and arrange a belay. The second pitch traverses left along an obvious break for 15 feet to a nice looking thin crack. Climb the thin crack to the underside of an overhang that is actually a huge detached block. Traverse back right under this overhang to the arête and up to the top of the crag. Intersects with

No Glory

at the thin crack and

on the, uh, arête.

FA info from Tony Calderone's 2107 BCC guide, but line described here is as depicted in the Ruckmans' guide.

Location

Look for the only offwidth on Buena Vista's east face.

Protection

Nuts and a single set of cams from micro to a No. 2 (red) Camalot, and several full-length runners, should do it.
