Edge of Darkness

Description

Crux crimping leads to flake liebacking and the top. The edge of the flake feels a little flexing, particularly at the start, but it didn't snap on me anyway. This route gets little to no discernable traffic, so there is a fair amount of dirt on it, particularly at the topout.

Location

From the base of the cliff, head up and left on ledges toward its left end. Behind a very large spruce are two routes on a short wall. The rightmost is a 4 bolt sport route called Over the Edge (11b). To the left is a single bolt and the flake at the edge of the darkness.

Protection

One bolt. I placed a yellow Alien and #0.5, #0.75, & #1 Camalots in the flake. The anchor is a sling around a tree with a locking biner.
