"Wexler's Double Chimney Route" Grade Unknown

THE GRADE OF THIS ROUTE IS UNKNOWN ("5.6" is educated guess)

Arnold Wexler and a group of climbers visited the Klondike Pond cliffs in 1946 and climbed a route "from the upper end of the pond"..."near the right hand limit of the wall"..."approaching (via) ledges and easy slopes up to a 8 foot overhanging pitch requiring some strength of arm for its negotiation." From here "a detached slab formed a 15 ft chimney...[above which] a second, narrower chimney behind a second detached slab led to a chockstone...and scramble to the top."

Quotes are from a typed page of what was believed to be a private communication from A. Wexler to Bill Phillips, et. al. of the Boston AMC sometime during the 1950's or early 1960's. Later it was discovered that Wexler published details of his 1945 trip in 1946 Appalachia article.
