Tomahawk

Description

Slab climbing with mostly small, rounded edges and smears, friction is the name of the game for the majority of this one. Near the top (fourth bolt) move right to flake feature and then back left into the alcove where the anchor is.

A second pitch or extension is possible by climbing up and left out of the alcove to connect with Pierced Ear.

I've only described and rated the first pitch of Tomahawk since that seems most logical and what most are likely to do. Pierced Ear is the direct and better line on its own.

Location

The third from left of the four Indian Wall bolted routes. Four bolts that leads to an alcove. The line of bolts for Tomahawk are only about 30 feet to the right of Pierced Ear but a big bush next to the wall blocks access from that route so you need to go down and around to a flat sandy area to start the route. See beta photo on Indian Wall page.

Protection

4 bolts and anchor.
