Peak Mountain 3

Laryngitis

FA TR: Tom Uhl, 11/13
CREATED
UPDATED

Description

This (rarely climbed?) chossy route is mostly low-angle dihedral and juggy 5.6, but ends with a few moves of challenging and fun 5.9+ overhang. A left heel-hook in the pocket helps. Rock is very featured with many opportunities for variations.

Location

Scramble 3rd-class up the right (north) side of the crag, then around the back, to the top. Set master point in the obvious 3-foot-wide depression. Scramble off. 2 natural steps help ease into the overhanging rappel.

Protection

TR anchor using large nuts and 1-2" cams in 2 separate cracks 10 feet back, can also sling 6-foot boulder on the right. Leading not recommended, placements for gear disappear after first 10 feet.
