Tallboy

Description

I did a stand-start, but a lower start or a sit-start could make this one substantially harder. It iss barely less than vertical and is pretty sustained slab climbing the whole way up. It is a little tall, but has a great landing.

NOTE: This boulder and the "Stop in French" boulder are adjacent to each other. R Hall NH Admin 7/17/20

Location

Revised (7/17/20) Location Directions: Direct Approach to "Stop in French" & Tall Boy Boulders - Continue on the hiking trail to the split, take the "straight ahead" branch (i.e. don't go left ) and continue about 250 ft.  Look for a place where the trail levels off after a gentle rise and there are two reasonably large (4-5 ft high) boulders on the left and a group of 4 large pine trees on the right.  (photo) ...look to your right and the "Tall Boy"  boulder should be visible about 100 ft through the open trees.

Original Directions: Walk down the boulder loop trail, passing the first group of boulders. Walk on the trail until you find the boulder I called Lurp. Then turn right into the woods. This large boulder should be clearly visible about 50 yards into the woods.
