Clouded Leopard

Description

We put our 1st bolt just under where the ancient ones did and proceeded up from there. There were stances for a couple bolts, but most were drilled from the rope. I don't think someone led this ground up back in the day: too loose. (Heck, it would have needed 3 ropes to TR this back then.)

The angle of this means the holds are always dirty, so BRING A BRUSH. There's lots of choices, we brushed what we used, but it will clean up if folks climb it. I thought it was 10a, Tim thought 10b. (He may be right.) Let's see what you think?

If you want to lead solo this, a #5 or 6 Camalot would slot in about shin high.

(Name? Clouded Leopards are indigenous to Borneo.)

Location

This is currently the left-most of 4 bolted routes, about 2/3 of the way uphill on the slab. We found a USGS marker/pipe and followed a game trail directly up from the 'River Road' at the

Narrows

(aka The Chutes, the obvious area for jumping into the river which is expressly forbidden by signs). There's been some beetle-kill thinning in here.

Protection

9 bolts to anchor chains.
