Description

The checkerboard face has many crack/water runnels.  Particle Man is the widest and steepest.   Established on-site free solo.

P1:  100'   Begin from the toe of the apron and climb up the steepening slab to the crack.  The last friction move to gain the crack is the crux (unprotected).  Ascend the crack to a wide ledge (crack is protectable, ass-friction belay).  5.6ish

P2:  200' traverse   From the large ledge, traverse right and gradually upward, taking the path of least resistance, to wrap around the formation onto easier terrain (no protection). easier than 5.6

Descend the south face until you see a major wall to your right.  Follow the wall down to the valley floor.

Location

Right side of the east face.

Protection

3 and 4 C4s. No anchors or gear for belays.
